NCATA Membership Committees and Purposes
NCATA is proud to be a teacher-led organization, grounded in grassroots leadership and driven by the voices of our members. Our seven standing committees are essential to the work and future direction of the association. These committees give members the opportunity to lead, collaborate, and shape the programs, policies, and priorities of NCATA.
There are seven NCATA committees. Five of these committees have 16 members, two from each of the eight NCATA Regions. Committee chairs are appointed by the President. Committees may choose to elect a elect a secretary from their membership. Committee members are appointed by the Regional Vice President.
The Professional Development Committee is appointed by the President and are tasked with planning and implementing the Professional Development of the Organization.
The nominating committee consists of one member from each of the eight NCATA Regions, appointed by the Regional Vice President. This committee is self-governed and must elect a chair from its membership.
Each committee will meet at minimum twice per year. These committee meetings may be held virtually or in person during NCATA Events (NCATA Winter Conference, Summer Conference, Etc.).
